Overview
What is Foam Board?
Foam board (also called foam-core board) is made of a lightweight polystyrene foam core sandwiched between two sheets of smooth, clay-coated paper. It’s one of the most common and economical signage materials — the kind you’ve seen countless times in schools, stores, and presentations.
Its smooth surface takes printing and mounting beautifully, and it’s exceptionally light and easy to cut. The trade-off is durability: the paper facing and foam core make it best suited to short-term, indoor use rather than long-term or outdoor signage.
