Overview
What is Expanded PVC?
Expanded PVC is a closed-cell foamed polyvinyl chloride board — most widely known by the Sintra brand. Its rigid yet lightweight body and smooth, low-gloss surface make it one of the most versatile and cost-effective substrates in signage.
It cuts, routes, and engraves cleanly, takes direct print and vinyl beautifully, and holds dimensional detail well — which is why it’s a go-to for interior signs, displays, and flat-cut letters. While durable, it’s best suited to indoor or sheltered settings, as prolonged direct sun and heat can cause expansion over time.
