Why Rigid Signs? What Makes Panel Signage the Right Choice
Rigid signs are the most versatile signage format in commercial use — from a $15 yard sign to a $1,500 architectural panel, the category covers every budget and application.
Self-Supporting — No Frame Required
Rigid signs hold their own shape. Unlike banners or vinyl graphics that need a surface to cling to, a rigid sign is a standalone panel that can be mounted, staked, leaned, hung, or placed on an easel. This makes them the most versatile sign format for both indoor and outdoor use.
Material Range — Temporary to Permanent
No other sign category spans this wide a range. Coroplast is disposable-cheap and lasts a season. Aluminum lasts a decade outdoors without rusting. Everything in between fills a specific gap in durability, weight, and cost. The material IS the product decision.
Custom Shapes and Sizes
Rigid substrates can be cut to any shape — standard rectangles, rounded corners, circles, logo silhouettes, or complex custom contours. Die-cut or CNC-routed to your exact specifications. No minimum order sizes for custom shapes.
Full-Color, Double-Sided, Any Finish
Rigid signs can be printed in full color on one or both sides, with matte, gloss, or satin finishes. PMS color matching available for brand accuracy. Graphics are durable, scratch-resistant, and UV-stable on premium substrates.
Indoor and Outdoor Applications
Some rigid materials are indoor-only (foam board). Some are outdoor-rated for years (Dibond, aluminum). Some bridge both (Sintra PVC). The material choice determines where the sign can live — and we help you match the right substrate to the right environment.

Your Rigid Signs, Produced by a Local NYC Sign Shop
Working with a local sign company means faster turnaround, accurate material guidance, and someone who can visit your site if the job requires it.
Material Guidance — Not Just Order-Taking
Most online sign printers let you pick a material from a dropdown and hope you chose right. We start by asking where the sign goes, how long it needs to last, and what it needs to look like — then recommend the right substrate. If you're choosing between Sintra and Dibond for an outdoor application, we'll explain exactly why one will work and the other won't, and what each costs.
Brooklyn Pickup or Tri-State Delivery
Our shop is in Brooklyn. You can pick up your signs in person, we can deliver across all five boroughs and Northern New Jersey, or we can ship anywhere in the US. For large-format or high-quantity orders, local pickup saves you time and shipping cost. For orders that need installation, our crew handles it on-site.
Fast Turnaround — 2–3 Days Standard
Standard rigid sign orders are produced in 2–3 business days. Rush and same-day turnaround is available for simple orders with print-ready artwork. We don't outsource production — signs are produced in our own facility, which means we control the timeline and quality from start to finish.
Design Services Included
Have a logo and an idea but no print-ready file? Our design team creates the artwork for you — layout, typography, color matching, and file preparation. Already have artwork? We review it for print compatibility before production, so there are no surprises when the sign comes off the printer.
Start from the Job, Not the Material
Describe what the sign needs to do — we’ll point you to the right substrate.
Storefront & Building Signs
Exterior-mounted panels identifying your business — above the door, beside the entrance, or mounted to the facade.
Indoor Display or Presentation
Trade show panels, easel displays, POP signage, event graphics. Lightweight, easy to transport, no weather resistance needed.
Durable Indoor/Outdoor Sign
Retail signage, menu boards, wayfinding. Needs to look professional and survive weather, but not at premium pricing.
Permanent Outdoor Branding
Building identification, storefront panels, architectural signage. Outdoors for years. Must not rust, warp, or fade.
Premium Lobby or Reception
Corporate lobby sign, office reception display. Needs to look high-end — glass-like clarity, standoff mounting, possibly backlit.
Regulatory or Compliance
Parking signs, ADA room signs, fire safety, no-smoking. Must be permanent, weather-resistant, and code-compliant.
Tell Us What the Sign Needs to Do — We'll Recommend the Material
Send us your dimensions, quantity, where the sign will be used, and how long it needs to last. We’ll recommend the right substrate, provide a quote, and produce your custom rigid signs — typically within 2–3 business days.

Frequently Asked Questions
Rigid signs are flat, self-supporting panel signs printed on a solid substrate material. Unlike banners, flags, or vinyl graphics that need a surface or frame to hold their shape, rigid signs are structural on their own. They include materials like coroplast, foam board, Sintra PVC, Dibond aluminum composite, solid aluminum, and acrylic. The material determines the sign’s weight, durability, weather resistance, and cost.
It depends on how long the sign needs to last. For temporary outdoor use (weeks to months), coroplast is the most affordable choice. For medium-term outdoor signage (2–5 years), Sintra PVC offers good durability at a mid-range price. For permanent outdoor signs (5–10+ years), Dibond or solid aluminum are the most durable and weather-resistant options. Foam board should never be used outdoors.
Yes. Rigid substrates can be cut to any custom shape — logo silhouettes, rounded corners, circles, arrows, or complex contours. Acrylic, Sintra, Dibond, and aluminum are precision-cut on a CNC router. Coroplast and foam board are typically straight-cut or die-cut. No minimum order requirements for custom shapes.
Indoor floor graphics on smooth surfaces (tile, sealed concrete, VCT) use removable adhesive and peel up cleanly when removed within the rated lifespan. Hardwood and laminate floors require low-tack adhesive — we specifically select for this. Outdoor graphics use permanent adhesive and may leave residue that requires a scraper or solvent. Carpet graphics peel up without pulling fibers.
Both. We produce in-house and offer professional installation across NYC and the tri-state area. We also offer pickup from our Brooklyn shop and shipping for customers who handle their own installation. Mounting method depends on the material and location.
Yes. Coroplast, Sintra, and Dibond are the most common double-sided materials. Yard signs are almost always double-sided. Foam board can be printed double-sided but is less common since it’s typically wall-mounted showing one face.
Sintra is expanded PVC — a rigid plastic board that’s lightweight, weather-resistant, and moderately priced. Dibond is aluminum composite — two thin aluminum sheets bonded to a polyethylene core, making it significantly more rigid, completely rust-proof, and premium-priced. For most outdoor signage that needs to last 2–5 years, Sintra works well. For permanent applications (5–10+ years), Dibond is the better choice.
UL 410 is the Underwriters Laboratories standard for slip resistance of floor surface materials. It tests the coefficient of friction using a James Machine — surfaces must achieve a static coefficient of friction of 0.50 or higher to be rated slip-resistant. Every anti-slip overlaminate we use carries UL 410 certification, meaning it’s been independently tested and rated safe for pedestrian traffic.
Either. If you have print-ready artwork (PDF, AI, EPS, or high-resolution images), we accept your files and review them for print compatibility. If you need design help, our team creates the layout — send us your logo, text, and direction on colors and style, and we’ll produce a proof for your approval before printing.
