New York Sign Company That Started in a Garage
Our story starts in 1995. Our founder, Abie S., was between jobs and spent his days watching a friend who was a talented hand sign painter. The craft stuck with him.
Around the same time, while working at Nabisco, Abie saw the newly redesigned Oreo package and couldn’t stop thinking about how good design grabs your attention. He started noticing lettering everywhere: on buses, billboards, newspaper ads and storefronts. Before long, he was making signs of his own in a small home garage in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn.
That garage has grown into a 10,000 square foot shop with a team of more than 12 people. We’re still family owned, and today the business is run by Abie’s son, Ismail S., a second generation New York City sign maker.

Our 10,000 sq. ft. production facility features CNC routers, laser cutters, wide-format printers, and sheet metal bending equipment for custom sign fabrication. Our team manages sign manufacturing, quality control, design, installation, and repairs, with trusted trade partners supporting overflow production when needed.

Since 1995 — over 30+ years. Signs NYC is a family-owned New York sign company, founded by Abie S. and now run by his son, Ismail S. Everything is designed and fabricated in-house at our 10,000 sq ft New York facility, and we've installed 200,000+ signs across New York and New Jersey.
If your sign needs a DOB permit, we guide you through the process and help you get everything ready, so you know what to expect at each step. Timelines depend on the job.
Standard projects typically take 5-7 business days. Banners and printed graphics are often ready the same day or the next business day. Complex pieces take longer: custom metal plaques, for example, run about 14-20 business days. Permits add time on top, depending on the sign type. We offer rush service for tight deadlines, so tell us your date when you request a quote.
Yes. We repair signs no matter who made them. That includes structural fixes, panel replacements, lighting problems, and vinyl or graphic updates. If a sign is beyond saving, we can remove it and make a replacement. We also offer 24/7 emergency sign service.
