Overview
What is neon signage?
Neon is an illuminated sign type rather than a flat substrate — light itself is the medium. Traditional neon is made from hand-bent glass tubes filled with neon or argon gas that glows when energized by a high-voltage transformer. The result is a continuous, luminous line of color that can be shaped into any letter, logo, or symbol.
The color comes from the gas inside the tube and the coating on the glass — neon gas glows red-orange, while argon and other gases, combined with colored or phosphor-coated tubing, produce the full spectrum. Each piece is shaped by hand, giving neon the glowing, atmospheric presence that makes it a timeless choice for brands with personality.
